Exploring ATHENS

6:00AM | Wake-up call
7:00AM | Breakfast
8:00AM | Depart for touring

Today, we embark on a guided exploration of Athens, beginning with its most iconic landmark, the Acropolis. This ancient citadel, standing high above the city, houses the Parthenon, a symbol of Greek culture and philosophy.

Mars Hill (Areopagus) – This is where Paul boldly preached to the Athenians about the “unknown God” (Acts 17:22-31), confronting Greek philosophy with the truth of Christ. As we stand here, we will read Paul’s sermon and reflect on his approach to evangelism in a pagan society.

Ancient Agora – The bustling marketplace of Athens, where Socrates once walked and debated, and where Paul reasoned daily (Acts 17:17). This area represents the intellectual and cultural heart of Athens in Paul’s time.

The Temple of Hephaestus & Stoa of Attalos – Architectural remnants that give us insight into the grandeur of ancient Athens and the environment in which Paul ministered.

Evening at leisure or group fellowship.
