Israel – ETA-IL Requirement
Important Update: All international travelers from visa-exempt countries must have a valid ETA-IL (Electronic Travel Authorization) prior to departing for Israel.
Key ETA Details:
- Duration of Stay: Visitors with a valid ETA-IL can stay up to 90 days in Israel.
- Validity: The ETA-IL is valid for up to 2 years or until the passport expires.
- Passport Changes: In case of passport renewal or changes in personal information, a new ETA-IL will be required.
- Cost: The ETA-IL costs 25 ILS (
$7 USD/$10 CAD). - Visa Holders: International travelers who require a valid visa to visit Israel do not need to apply for the ETA-IL.
- Application Availability: The application form will be accessible starting June 1, 2024.
- Processing Time: Processing time ranges from a few minutes to 72 hours. It is advisable to apply before booking your trip.

Turkey:
- Online Visa: A visa can be purchased online. More information is available via Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the e-visa application website.
Egypt:
- E-Visa: Can be obtained through Egypt’s official government website. Applications must be submitted at least 7 days before departure.
- Visa on Arrival: Available upon landing. Stop by the ‘visa on arrival’ window and pay $25 (cash, in USD) for a visa sticker to attach to your passport.
Jordan:
- Visa on Arrival: Jordanian immigration officials issue single-entry visas to U.S. citizens for a fee upon arrival. The cost is 40 JD (approximately 56 USD) for a single entry with one-month validity.
- Stay Duration: Visitors can stay up to three months from the date of arrival.
Other Destinations:
- Rome and Greece: Visas are not required for travel to Rome or Greece for U.S. citizens.
